La Bufadora | Baja trip | Day 9

Initially, we were planning on camping for one more night. However, we were nearly home and in desperate need of decent shower and pizza, so this marks the end of our little Baja trip for now.

The road went by La Bufadora, a very famous spot where the oh-so-beautiful ocean meets the land in just the right way. It was worth seeing. So we did.

The road goes through little farming towns, so watch out for cows and horses.

It also goes through the mountains, where - you should know by now - something always needs fixing.

But don't worry, the lovely workers won't let you get too bored of waiting. They have lots of ice-cream, drinks and snacks to keep everybody happy.

It's all good from there.

Google Maps decided to take a shortcut to La Bufadora and lead us through some more agricultural areas.

We had some mixed feelings upon arrival.

Is the view as stunning as they say it is? Yes.

Is it a one of a kind experience? I doubt it.

The Baja has a lot to offer and even with our limited time there, we've seen truly breathtaking places. This one, though gorgeous, wasn't anything special.

The biggest turn-off was the number of tourists passing through.

The vendors and their customers completely block the road, so you have to slowly turtle behind pedestrians that are not even willing to go out of your way.

And once you make it all the way to the ocean, good luck finding a place to park your car. It's near impossible.
I'm not a fan of crowds. I'm not a fan of people commercializing beautiful places and abusing them, creating a lot of traffic and trash in the process. I think there should be a more dignified way to attract this kind of tourism. But hey what do I know?
If this is your cup of tea, go for it. There are souvenirs, food and culture. It's not as rich and authentic as it could have been, but it's also worth seeing.
However, if you enjoy less commercial destinations and want to encounter genuine Mexican culture, go South. The people there are so kind and warm, they'll steal your heart. It'll be full of untouched nature and simple humanless beauty.

We loved Baja so much, we'll be returning there again pretty soon. This time we'll try to reach Cabo San Lucas, the tip of Baja California Sur. We'll explore new places, test ourselves on an even longer journey and we'll be happy to bring you along with us.
In the meantime, you can follow our latest trip to Guadalajara on our YouTube channel and follow us on Instagram if you want to be up to date on our whereabouts.
Thank you for following our journey. I hope we can inspire you to step outside of your comfort zone, try new things, see new places and do it with humour. Be happy, be curious, don't take this beautiful world for granted and let it sweep you off your feet with its diversity.
Have a great day, beautiful stranger.
See you next Thursday.
